Valigonda Train Accident

In 2005, a train to Secunderabad fell into a rivulet after flash floods washed away the bridge. It was recorded as one of the worst train disasters in Andhra Pradesh. Being first on the scene, Sudhakar was able to provide first-hand witness account of the tragedy. Around 100 people died in the incident and the survivors recalled the trauma they went through trying to stay above the rainwater and climb to the top of the sinking bogies to stay safe. He highlighted the negligence of railway officials that led to the mishap. Railway officials were prosecuted.
